Angelena –
PERFECT for running on cold, windy days. These kept my hands comfortably warm without overheating. They were great when checking my watch or phone- able to use screen as easily as not wearing gloves.
Julie –
I use this glove for cycling in cold weather I love them!
Kelsey –
Great gloves, Love the fit bit did not block the wind as advertised. Would be great for windless, cool days. Not cold days
Samuel –
Great in snow.

This year’s version is an improvement over the last version. IMO, there is not a better thin glove for cold weather running. These will actually hold up on a windy day in the mid to high 20s. These are just great gloves. To be clear, I’m talking about use for outdoor exercise activities, not just walking around. There is a body heat component from activity that would not be a factor if you are just going for a stroll. I do not know how these gloves perform for low impact activities.
The key to staying warm when being active in very cold temperatures is to wear both a wind layer and a thermal layer. These gloves have both built in. When you combine wind and thermal layers, body heat builds up inside your clothing, keeping you warm during activity. If you have good quality wind and thermal layers, you can actually dress in relatively light clothing and still stay warm when active. That’s pretty much what is going on with these gloves. Oh, and they have a good amount of water (rain) resistance, although that is not advertised.
These gloves put bulkier cold weather options from Gore (which I’ve owned) and others to shame. Great product.

Pleased with the gloves, but they may be best as a glove under another waterproof or heavier glove, if out in wet or snowy weather. Also, listen to the sizing chart where you need to measure your hand and then order a size larger. Good for hiking where your body would heat up the hands or everyday use when the conditions are not too extreme.
Gloveless –
This has been an absolute faff. I ordered these gloves plus the mittens almost two weeks ago after measuring and ordering the size recommended on the sizing chart. These gloves are at least a size (potentially 2) too small and instead of the mittens we ordered, we received a kids beanie. It took multiple tries to contact customer service and then were told we would need to ship back at our cost.
Bottom line, smartwool products are typically high quality, but with these, size up at least one size and hope that you never need their customer service.
Thomas –
Had a great feel but they were a tad too small so I had to return them
Mie –
This is just what I needed. Lightweight gloves that are windproof with friction gripping on the fingers and palm. I can use my hands and feel like I can really grip at critical moments of my activity, but still offer warmth.
Theresa –
I use these gloves while running. They do a great job blocking the wind and keeping my hands warm. They also do a great job with sweat mitigation.
James –
Vendors always want reviews before I get a chance to actually try things out. That said, the fit was tight enough that it was difficult to put on at first, but once on it fit, well, like a glove. I briefly wore in moderately cold weather and it was an improvement over bare hands but I wouldn’t depend on them in weather that was much below freezing.
Devon –
These are amazing for outdoor running! I’ve used them in 36 degree weather running and my hands were warm the entire time. The touchscreen component works amazing as well. Highly recommend these as a cool weather running glove.
Kristine –
Purchased for extra warmth in our Alaskan winters
JC –
Almost ripped it just getting onto my hands — once there it feels ok
Belinda –
Great snug fit and warm alone for activities such as roller blading or as liner gloves under ski mittens!
Michael –
great product. looks sleek, feels warm, and has good conductivity for phone usage.
Edward –
I tried mountain biking with these gloves and found that they were, sadly not very warm and difficult to get on as they were too thin for my hands although they were a “medium.”
