Hannah L –
This was my first time wearing an ultra lite piece and I can already see it becoming a staple for summer. I run hot and sweat at the drop of the hat, so love how light and soft this shirt is! When I sweat this much in synthetic materials I find I smell terrible within the first half hour of hiking. In this shirt I don’t! Not only that, but I have worn it 4 times already and I still have not needed to wash it – if it’s sweaty, I just hang it to dry out (which doesn’t take long given how light it is) and it doesn’t smell once dry!
I love the see-through ness of it also, the colour (bleached aqua) is pretty and looks great with a dark blue/green sports bra underneath.
I like my t-shirts to fit loose, so I usually order a large in regular t-shirts – however, the fit of this one is so light and loose I think a size medium would have been a better fit while still being loose and comfortable.
So bottom line – super soft, comfy, packable!

Based on the product description, I sized down and it is still nice and roomy. I typically buy the regular short-sleeve tees for hiking so I won’t get smelly, and because they are fitted, I usually size up, but my regular size is still roomy in this style. I bought this shirt for travel, and in the Hawaiian Surf color I do not think it is see-through. Lucky that this is the color I’ve been craving! I prefer less muted colors. The slightly wider neckline is very flattering and not so wide that regular bra straps would show. I’ve just come back from a southern hemisphere trip in warm weather, and only took one Smartwool tee that I used for long walks. It never got smelly. My regular travel shirts did, and so when I saw this great color online, I got my husband to order it for me in case my size and color were sold out before I got home. I have my new favorite shirt.

The fit is great and the fabric is comfortable. The fabric is very thin, so my skin shows through the fabric. Most people would probably be okay with this.
Sarah –
I was looking for a tshirt like one Smartwool doesn’t make anymore. This one would be great for exercise but I wanted something thicker to use for everyday use. Bring back the Merino Sport 150!!
Christina –
This shirt is lightweight, comfortable, and has all the great benefits of wool. As the other reviewers have said it runs a bit big. I normally wear between a L and XL in Smartwool t-shirts so I ordered a large and it’s a bit big. It’s been great for hiking and look forward to using it kayaking in the summer.
Carolyn –
Great fit. Light soft feel. Too thin to be worn without a sports bra
Diane –
Wonderful shirt for hiking. Small fits close.. medium is baggy (5’6″ 130lb). Excellent wicking and odor control. Dries in a flash, on out of your body.
Brenda –
Love how comfortable this Summer shirts are. They do run about 2 sizes bigger, wear medium but on these I ordered them x-small and they fit perfectly- loose fit.

I’ve worn this for a trail run in NorCal in 80 weather and as a base layer on a beach hike. The shirt performed well in both applications. It is comfortable, no chafing and dries reasonably quickly. Low odor as expected. Fit is great. Small fits me a tiny bit loosely at 5’4″ 120. You could go XS if you don’t have a menopause belly. I’ve washed it and it does have some wrinkles, but should hold up well without pilling. I chose the slightly darker colors because it is thin and a dark sports bra will show through.

Went to Europe with this shirt. Most my other shirts were terrible with the heat and humidity. I wore this shirt multiple days on the trip and wished I had brought more with me. I will be buying more
Gay –
I’m shocked at how light, lovely, and comfie the fabric and fit are. Would 100% buy again.
Kirsten –
I love this shirt for summer hiking. It is very breathable and dries quickly after working up a sweat.
The color makes you easy to find in the back country. Hopefully I will never need rescuing.
The lightweight fabric is semi sheer, but a skin tone bra makes that a non-issue. The fit is loose and comfortable without looking sloppy.

Great fit, true to size and feels good on my skin. Love Smartwool for year round hiking and adventuring!
Joanne –
I bought this for running on our dirt roads. The color has made me more viable and the wool allows me to wear without stink.
Lynn –
Love the color and especially love the performance! I rarely buy anything other than wool these days, mostly Smartwool. The cooling effect really works, even here in Texas, and it’s really nice to have a shirt that doesn’t stink within a few hours in the heat. These are great for layering in the winter, too!

Bought two of these for mountain biking in the CO Rockies and they are the best active short sleeve warm weather tops Ive ever owned. Feathery soft and lightweight, breathe so well, wick like the light wool layer they are on hot CO days and make a great first layer on cooler mornings. I have the lavender and pink colors and they are soft pretty shades not overly bright but plenty of rich warm color. Love them!

Taking it to Scotland for several days of hiking. Should be a good base layer.
Suellen –
Extremely lightweight and comfy. Cool in hot weather, also makes a good base layer. Liked it so much I bought another. The second one had a manufacturing defect (size). Smartwool replaced it promptly – great customer service.
Traveller –
Most impressed with Smartwool’s products. Have found there is absolutely no colour bleeding when washing (I hand wash) even in dark or intense colours. Wish the logos were more discreet.
Debbie –
So comfortable! I wear this hiking and even after being soaked in sweat it doesn’t stink!
Vera –
My first purchase of Smartwool’s tee and so far, it’s great: the fit is roomy, which is not the case with other tees that make skimpy ones; the fabric is soft and not scratchy at all; the color is lovely. I’ll be taking this on my trip to Germany next week and trust this will help with keeping out the cold.
Claudia –
Love the color. Use it for yoga and my MELT classes. Keeps me warm and when I get too hot easy to take off. I bought the xs – it is a tad long but works!!! Easy to launder . This is my 3rd short sleeve. Love it.
Lisa –
I wore this shirt on a 15 mile hike and it smelled fine the next day. It was light and fits great. I wish they had more colors. I already have three.
Ariana –
I’ve only worn this tee a few times but it is so soft and cozy. The fit is flattering, not boxy but not too fitted, though I ordered a size up to make sure it was loose enough. I also have the hoodie version and it is fantastically breathable on hot days when you still want a little coverage.
Irene –
Nice fitting Tee! I ordered two sizes and decided to keep both- the small for a snug cycling fit and a medium for more casual fit I’m a size 10/12 woman.. love the red color!
