These footies are not only ideal for bicycling, but superior to cotton and synthetics for all other kinds of use.
I ride my e cargo bike every day. I own four pairs of these footies. I rotate them each day. At the end of each day I hang the worn pair on on a hangar with two clips. I hang the hanger on a close line in the sun one day, then hang the sock pair in my closet until this pair comes up in the rotation. I have never needed to wash them in two months of use every fourth day. Same with my merino wool -shirts. 4 day rotation and never wash.
Merino wool underwear are different. I have to wash them to keep them fresh. But a quick hand wash at tub faucet with a couple drops of laundry soap only applied to crotch, and one day hang in sun, then hang in closet till next rotation day and that is it.
Not washing in washing machine and not drying in dryer is both a huge time saver.
If Americans embraced Merino wool underwear, t-shirts, and socks, literally billions of gallons of fresh water consumption would be saved, and so literally billions of gallons of grey water would not need treatment.
Merino wool socks, t-shirts and underwear are a no-brainer for anyone that likes their feel. I not only like the feel, I much prefer it.
I wear Merino socks four seasons.
I wear Merino wool t-shirts three and a half seasons in arid central California. Over 90F I wear thin nylon polyester blend daytime and merino in evening. But I am constantly searching for an ultralight mesh t shirt for 90-110F.
I find merino underwear best for fall and winter. Again wish I could find some ultralight Merino for summer.
But back to the footies.
Buy them.
You will never go back to cotton or synthetic sweat boxes for your feet.

I LOVE my merino wool hoodie. The extra deep pockets are exceptional! It is so comfortable and lightweight, yet surprisingly warm. It seems to work for any temperature, indoors and outdoors.

I’ve been wearing smartwool socks almost exclusively for about 15 years. To me there are none better. They outlast everything else. I just retired the first pair I bought a few weeks ago. The bike zero cushion are great for everyday wear. They cover my foot everywhere my shoes touch so there is no rubbing or discomfort at all.

Comfortable, utilitarian, durable socks! The women’s “Large” sock isn’t large enough (especially if your spouse accidentally dries them in the dryer), therefore I have to order men’s/unisex XL… It would be great if more solid colors were offered as well.
