Claudia –
Purchased these pants in a size S and they fit perfect. I’m 5’2 and ~117 lbs for reference with what I consider an athletic build. These pants are very flattering with the high waist and are comfortable and warm. I have another pair of wool baselayers by another company and these have a more stretchy tight feel to them. I have the matching top as well.
Abigail –
Finally, a high waisted wool base layer. These look as good as regular leggings. I love the subtle pattern. My only complaint is they are a little tight around the waist. I’m usually a medium/size 8 and they a bit too small. I’m keeping them though because the large would probably be too large in the legs.
Jolene –
Nice and warm and works well when sweating too. Wore them under lightly lined snow pants for a very cold, very windy spring ski day with temps in the low 20’s and windchill in the teens. Wasn’t cold at all!
Melissa –
Use as a base layer for skiing, mostly. I wish they came in a shorter length for us petites, though, I have to roll up the bottoms.
Melissa –
Equestrian who needs good base layers. Very soft and warm. Waist is way too tall for average person (5’3″).
Carolyn –
I love the color of these (A burnt orange color with a leaf pattern). The fit is really tight and snug compared to other brands that I’ve tried labelled with the same size so I would keep that in mind when ordering again in the future. I feel adorable in my set and ultra warm!
Jacie –
I always struggle to find the right base layer because they are usually too tight on my thighs and hips. These have a great amount of stretch and cute colors, keep me warm! Good buy for anyone active. #sweepstakes
Carmen –
These are very warm and also very fitted. I’m on the small side of smalls (5’4, 116 lbs and athletic build) but these are Tight! They held up during a trail marathon and about 3-4 weeks of running so far. Hoping I get many seasons so I’m air drying them and low spin cycle for the wool.
Carol –
I work outside in the northeast so need something that will keep me warm all day and my job is very physical so these are great. I used to be allergic to merino wool so I’ll have to see if I still am but so far so good.
Caroline –
I love these! They were very tight right out of the packaging, but now that I’ve worn em a couple times, they fit really well. At first I’d say they run small, but when you break them in they’re definitely true to size. #sweepstakes
Elizabeth –
A little tighter and more insulating than expected, but overall, a good fit and will definitely keep me warm.
Shauna –
I just purchased these for an upcoming ski trip. I ordered the large based on folks saying they run small but I think they run very true to size. I’m between a M and L these days so I ordered the L. While the fit nicely, I’m worried about them stretching. But, I don’t have time to exchange for a M before my trip, so, let’s hope they don’t stretch too much and the L stays as a nice, easy fit (and doesn’t become a baggy fit lol).
Kelly –
So soft. Not itchy. Great color.
Jeanine –
Very comfortable. Keeps me warm on the mountain. Washed before using to help with itchiness.
Anna –
Great base layer for ice climbing. Good stretch and yet warm enough.
Katie –
I love these leggings for backcountry skiing. They do a great job at regulating body temp on both the uphill and downhill. However, I brushed against some velcro, and now have several holes in the leg that are rapidly expanding, and the crotch area is becoming see-through. This is after about half a season of use, so they’re not very durable.
Courtney –
These are like wool leggings. They are not very warm, but good for spring days
Nicole –
I absolutely love these base layers. I think the 3/4 length ones are way too short. I get an air gap between my socks and base layer so I buy the long ones and pull them up above my ski boots. Buy the long ones!
Smartwool- please make a longer 3/4 base layer. We the skiers, need a mid calf not a below the knee. You’re like 3-4 inches too short in adult and kids!
Rachel –
these leggings are soft, stretchy, and comfortable. love the extra high waist and seamless feel. there is a slight amount of compression. would wear skin tone underwear if wearing these alone. I think I just found my go-to nordic ski base layers!
measurements: 29 in waist, 37.5 in hip. typically a size 4/6, purchased M. fits perfectly!
Antonia –
Thse are the most amazingly comfortable and warm base layer bottoms I’ve ever owned! They are also very versatile, high waist that is comfortable on the body, perfect weight and stretch, good for base layer, as yoga pants and even under a dress with boots. A great investment
Valerie –
Love these leggings. They are flattering and comfortable. I am 5’6″ and 130. I chose to order a medium. I usually buy smalls but the medium was a good chose.
Emily –
Super comfortable and long enough which is usually a challenge. Very happy to have these in my wardrobe and hope they last!
Alison –
I love these, color and patterns included. Layering under skirts too, warm lower half essential to health, I walk my dog a lot, snowy/ cold this year!
Susan –
Love the fit! Warm for the mountain and cozy for apres skiing!
Rachael –
Bought to take skiing as I needed to update my base layers and this was great for layering under my ski pants. Kept me warm all day. Fabric is a bit delicate so will be careful when I do wash it.
